About the role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to become a key part of Tech Nation’s growing UK wide team, taking the lead on the knowledge sharing and learning strategy for a new digital community platform for scaleups. If you understand the power of sharing knowledge and learning, have deep expertise in the tech industry and a passion for online community engagement, we want you on our team.

A new role has arisen within Tech Nation as we seek to scale our operations online, and become more revenue focused. We are looking to take the knowledge and success from our peer-to-peer leadership programmes to create the next generation knowledge sharing learning platform for high growth tech founders and their leadership teams. 

This is an awesome opportunity to work directly with some of the UKs most successful scaling tech companies, and have a direct impact on how they navigate their growth phase

A Day in the Life of the Head of Knowledge might look something like this:

Next generation knowledge sharing and learning strategy

  • Use your sound editorial judgement and deep understanding of the digital tech sector and related current affairs to design and lead the knowledge sharing and learning strategy for KIN.
  • Own the development and process for managing a repository of resources from our growth programmes and alumni network that will be used to create learning and community content on KIN.
  • Lead on the creation, curation and commissioning of original & premium resources to produce a digital value proposition that our members will pay for.
  • Generate new ideas and content themes - with an excellent ability to identify, prioritise and interpret key stories and events which are critical to the success of scaling tech companies.
  • Evolve and own the knowledge sharing and learning strategy including the associated OKRs.
  • Work with the Partnership & Marketing Manager to explore opportunities for media & content partnerships. 

Customer & data obsessed

  • Use data analysis to develop a deep understanding of our audience and inform how we provide valuable and unique content, resources and experiences to them.
  • Use audience/engagement data to craft high-level performance analysis and content insights.
  • Be an expert on the needs & challenges facing scaling tech companies; and the role corporates, investors & policymakers can play in meeting them.

Build a commercial business

  • Plan and co-deliver our online training series - Tech Nation Advance - aimed at functional leaders within high growth tech businesses. This will include the delivery of live training sessions on KIN.

  • Excellent written, editing and presentation skills.
  • Be able to think creatively, to uncover new trends and develop new ideas for content.
  • The ability to conceive, structure and develop knowledge sharing and online learning resources.
  • Confidence to introduce and deliver online live training sessions with energy and passion.
  • The ability to thrive in an online networking scenario, a born networker who loves to connect and introduce people.
  • Confident and creative in finding new and engaging ways to deliver knowledge and learning whilst keeping engagement.
  • Deep understanding of the needs and pain points of those in a fast-paced scaling tech company.
  • Strong people management experience - with the ability to pass this on to others.
  • A genuine desire to help leaders to succeed and become better operators.
  • Be excellent at time management, working well under pressure and to tight deadlines and across a range of projects.
  • Be responsible, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable managing the content process from start to finish.
The skills and experience you’ll likely have are:

  • A mixed background of academic and high growth tech.
  • A degree in journalism or an MBA.
  • A portfolio of published work across a range of platforms and products.   
  • Experience working for a networking or community platform.
  • Experience of working with ‘platinum’ paid-for content models beneficial. 
  • Solid experience of using data to craft high-level performance analysis and inform content strategy.
  • Experience in working with a multidisciplinary team to create outstanding content to fulfil business goals and audience needs.
  • Experience of managing people/teams.
