The Partnerships & Marketing Manager will be part of the Tech Nation Marketing team, with a specific focus on KIN - new digital community platform for scaleups.

About the role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to become a key part of Tech Nation’s growing UK wide team, taking the lead on content strategy and creation for a new digital community platform. If you understand the power of sharing knowledge, have deep expertise in the tech industry and a passion for online community engagement, we want you on our team.

A Day in the Life of the Partnerships and Marketing Manager might look something like this:

As the Partnerships & Marketing Manager, you will manage our third-party relationships with other brands, engaging tech founders and companies. You’ll work with the KIN team to build a network of like-minded partners, plan and action a strategy to make the most from marketing partnership opportunities to generate a world-class membership proposition on KIN. Responsibilities include:

  • Content partnerships - Working closely with the Head of Knowledge who will set the content strategy, you will build a network of partners to bring relevant & exclusive content to our KIN members. These partnerships may be contra deals or paid-for so you will manage contracts and budgets.
  • Marketing strategy - You will be expected to plan and action a strategy to make the most from marketing partnership opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring that partnerships are adding value to our members to support our ambition to begin introducing paid-for KIN membership.
  • New business development - Armed with a deep knowledge of our member needs, you will work closely with the marketing and commercial teams to identify new commercial opportunities for KIN. This may range from platform sponsorship; revenue-share opportunities and new product development.
  • Deliver on our unique story - Develop the strategic plan to provide a unique story for marketing partners and influencers to ensure the right marketing value.
  • Presentations are key - Create and deliver compelling presentations that sell the opportunities.
  • Forecast potential marketing value - Forecast budget and ROI on all partnership opportunities.
  • Become a mentor - In time, build, manage and mentor a small team of marketing partnership execs.
  • Deliver co-marketing initiatives - deliver partnership campaigns and co-marketing initiatives including coordinating assets.
  • Follow results - Track programme and campaign results by generating and using data. 


As well as sharing our ambitions and values you will have:

  • The ability to attract and approach a varied portfolio of relevant content partners, to be creative with this selection and use innovative and unique sources – not just a ‘content supply list’.
  • Business acumen and someone who can appreciate the ‘value add’ and manage budgets.
  • Being able to ‘up sell’ on both sides to ensure partnerships are mutually beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of content and its measurable success (good understanding of Data).
  • Can do, proactive, tenacious attitude.
  • Strong relationship management experience, planning, and negotiation.
  • Experience in creating compelling bespoke propositions for partners.
  • A solution-orientated approach to problem solving; ability to pivot conversations and recommend creative solutions.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in corporate marketing, partnerships, or agency side on partnerships or promotions.
  • Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy.
  • Have a passion for the Tech industry and awareness of emerging trends.
