About the role

The programme offers Founders peer-to-peer support, insights sessions and networking opportunities through investors, corporates and the UK Government, all curated under the values of honesty, intimacy and trust.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver our fourth Fintech programme. The programme aims to provide founders and leaders with invaluable skills, a powerful network – including peers, investors and potential clients – and the ability to implement changes that will help their companies grow.

The Programme Manager role will report to the Delivery Lead at Tech Nation and work closely with the Fintech Programme Lead. The PM will have responsibility for supporting the Programme Lead in ensuring the delivery of the programme through effective communication, excellent attention to detail and a can-do attitude to deliver across disciplines such as events, community management, content marketing and digital development.

The role of a Programme Manager, asides from programme support, is to champion Agile and scalable ways of working for the team and wider business. Programme Managers are required to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be proactive in finding solutions to scaling strategy and structures across the programme teams. 

The Fintech programme runs from September 2021 until March 2022. The programme application period “callout” began in May 2021 and lasts for approximately 2 months. Some regional travel may be required.

A Day in the Life of the Fintech Programme Manager might look something like this:

  • Working closely with the Programme Lead to be their right hand person. Able to take their visionary ideas and transform them into actionable deliverables for yourself and the wider team;
  • Conducting general PM duties to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Duties include:
    • Working alongside the events team to shape and manage event preparation and delivery;
    • Drafting briefing documents, presentations and briefs using a variety of data and insights generated by the cohort;
    • Being a point of contact for cohort members for any queries around programme arrangements;
    • Liaising with speakers, coaches and programme collaborators;
    • Being responsible for the smooth operational running of the entire programme as well as able to overcome blockers to progress; 
    • Holding meetings to discuss the status updates of key programme; deliverables and ensuring the team has all the resources they need in order to fulfil their role;
    • Collaborating with other programme teams to organise and deliver a series of tailored events around scaling challenges;
  • Attend and participate in daily stand ups with the Delivery Team to ensure cross team collaboration and best practice;
  • Contributing to building a thriving tech ecosystem in the UK.

  • Have a proven track record of implementing and delivery projects using Agile methodologies 
  • Playing a consultative role to put in place the appropriate people, process, and tools, to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coaching members of the team as needed to optimise the efficiency of the programme team.

  • A strong communicator; this role requires you to be a central point of contact for stakeholders both in and outside Tech Nation. 
  • Able to action administrative tasks quickly and with attention to detail
  • Passionate about improving processes and structures for programme delivery; having a really good operational mindset
  • Looking to pursue a career in operations and keen to support agile ways of working (experience in agile is not a key requirement but favourable)
  • Personable and a true team player, this role requires you to work with a fast paced and cross-functional team
  • An interest and passion for diversity and inclusion in tech.
